Welcome 2012!

The tradition lives on...

Our tradition on New Years Eve is to go to Pikes Place Market and get fresh fish and take it home and spend a quiet evening together discussing goals and talking about the last year.

New Years Eve day we continued our tradition and went to the city had our picture taken (this time instead of the market sign we had it taken at Gasworks Park) went to Dicks for lunch, Gasworks for run time, and the market for piroshki's (YUM)!! We didn't end up buying any fish to bring home but bought some fresh mizithra from a cheese stand in the market to make pasta and chicken that evening. We were there all day from 10-6 and the kids were fantastic, I sure hope we can continue with 4 little ones next year!!

Christmas 2011

It seemed as if Christmas came and then left in a blink...Matthias was diagnosed with pneumonia and a double ear infection the week of Christmas. We were instructed to give him treatment thru an oxygen mask three times a day to help with the cough for 3 weeks. Ezekiel woke up the eve of Christmas with a high fever and chills. We spent Christmas Eve in Oregon, that evening was spent at Dave's Grandparents, Christmas Day was spent at his Moms and the day after Christmas was spent at his Sisters house...until Daves cat allergy got the better of him. :)

The next day we all headed home, I took Lani and Matthias and Dave and Ezekiel rode home with Grandpa Wagner. But first they toured Grandpas work (the pellet mill) and loaded up 2.5 Tons of pellets to haul home for warmth.

Mouths open to meet Santa...

Dave's work hosted a Winter Wonderland Holiday Party for families that work for the utility. It was great! There were pictures with Santa, crafts, face painting, a clown making balloon animals, and a caricaturist. We're suppose to get the more professional Santa pictures soon. The kids had a blast!

Chocolate Oatmeal No-Bake Cookies that is. One of my favorite sweet snacks to make and keep in the fridge for late night cravings... Here's the recipe so you can make them, too!

Chocolate Oatmeal No Bake Cookies
1/2 C Butter
2 C Sugar
1/2 C Milk
4 Tbsp Cocoa
1/2 C Peanut Butter
3- 3 1/2 C Quick cooking Oats
2 tsp. Vanilla

Add the first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil, and boil for 1 minute. Stir in the next 3 ingredients and drop onto wax/foil paper. Let cool until set.

Black Friday Christmas Tree Tradition Continues...

Instead of braving all of the crowds at the stores we took the kids to the local tree farm to pick out our perfect tree. This year we found an 8ft tree for ten dollars! It was missing the back but fit perfectly against our corner wall. :) It's fun looking back at last years pictures at the same tree farm...Matthias was only 2 weeks old. This year it was much warmer and the sun was shining. Here are some pics!
