I am a follower of Jesus. I love life and have been blessed with the most hardworking, loving husband and six great kids. I created this blog to chronicle the things I have been learning, to share stories and pictures with family and friends who are interested, and to hopefully pass down a love of Jesus to my babes.

And so many ask when will your teaching begin?
Here we are...on the first day of school.
Isaiah 28:9-10 - To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast? For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.

A visit to the Fire Station
Today we took a field trip to the local fire station to get fitted for bicycle helmets. Ezekiel recently has been "flying" on his bicycle (thinking he is Buzz Light Year) going so fast his head just zooms by our window. Although Lani still rides with training wheels you never know when a collision will happen with the three of them. Oh yeah, Matthias gets on his tricycle and scoots along too! The firemen were so accommodating taking us around their quarters inside their truck and ambulance, turning on lights, etc for the kids. I wish I had my camera with me to take more pics, but at least I captured a few with my phone.

4 Week Update!
Four weeks ago today, sweet Marcus was born....but, we still have a couple more days before we have to call him a month old. And, I'm more than happy to wait. He's changing so quickly.
In these last two weeks, we've continued to go full speed with life...some of my favorite girls threw me/Marcus a baby shower, we went to the Woodland Park Zoo AND enjoyed every minute of the glorious day that God provided us with (I included my favorite picture of the bears below). We attended a Homeschooling Conference and enjoyed a weekend alone with just hubby, Marcus and likeminded friends glorifying God.
This was a picture of me and the kids getting ready to see the bears/ostriches.
These bears were soooo close and amazing to watch!
Total attendee count: 3327...
What a joy it was to see the Lord working in the lives of families in our country! If God is pulling your heart to homeschool, don't let fear of the unknown hold you back! Believe that He can do what you can not, and then act on that belief. Wake up every morning and give all that you are and all that you have to Him.
"'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.' Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me."

Happy 2 Weeks, Marcus!
It's a fact that I can never praise God enough for this blessing of motherhood, and it's a fact that every day He astonishes me with His grace and mercy.
This has been such a special 2 weeks for us, celebrating Easter, spending time with family, friends, getting spoiled with delicious meals, the most thoughtful gifts, coffee drop ins, basking in the glorious sunshine and 4 nights alone with just Marcus and Hubby.
He's looking great, and gaining weight. Yesterday he measured 1/2 an inch longer than just 9 days ago, and he's already pushing a whopping 7 lbs. 13 ounces.
It feels like he's been with us forever and yet, it seems like he arrived just yesterday. Oh, we're so blessed!

We walked in the hospital on the eve of April Fool's Day at 8:15pm and by 8:43pm, Marcus Ryan joined us. Weighing in at 7 lbs 10.6 ozs and measuring 19-3/4" long he is a perfectly healthy baby boy. We are in one word "Great"... we wanted to come home to be with the other three darlings, so we got our wish and were discharged at 3:00 pm the following day. Due to the speedy delivery we were unable to capture the "action shots" so here are the post "event" moments. :)

Spring Forward...
"My times are in Your hand..." Psalm 31:15
Sundays aren't complete without a good nap, I usually do my weekly ironing and today we (as in the boys) snuck in a little yard work. We pruned our apple tree, cherry & plum tree and Daddy and Ezekiel finished their derby car for AWANA. We ended our day with homemade turkey-spinach lasagna and NILLA healthified banana pudding for dessert. Could it get any better?
